The sinologist Dr. Donald Wagner has provided on his site a free textbook for Classical Chinese studies. It is a reader with vocabulary and extensive notes. I would say the textbook is for advanced students who already have a basic grasp of the classical particles and syntax. I think the most challenging part of this text in particular is understanding all the formal titles. Fortunately in this reader these are all noted in the glossary. I went through this text and found it quite rewarding and interesting. The subject matter deals with the Han account of barbarians.
